John G. Sofikitis

John G. Sofikitis (1934-2011), was an educator and principal for 30 years in the Mathews Local School District in Vienna, Ohio. John had a positive impact on the many lives he touched. His guidance encouraged students to realize and pursue their full potential and dreams.

To honor his legacy, a scholarship in his name was established in 2013 by a group of Mathews High School Alumni. Each year the Scholarship Committee selects a worthy graduating senior from Mathews High School and presents the award at the Annual Awards Assembly.
